Reminder: City advises of planned electricity supply interruption in Hout Bay

The City’s Electricity Generation and Distribution Department reminds residents in parts of Hout Bay of planned electricity interruptions that will be carried out on 21 and 28 February 2024. This is critical maintenance to the major Bisschop electricity substation in the area.
The electricity infrastructure maintenance will be carried out on:
· Wednesday, 21 February 2024, from 08:00 to 16:00 and on
· Wednesday, 28 February 2024, from 08:00 to 16:00
City teams are carrying out important maintenance to critical power infrastructure and this maintenance work ensures a reliable electricity supply for residents in the area. The City apologises for any inconvenience caused.

It is important to note that the supply interruption will only affect the highlighted area on the map. This hi-res image is zoom friendly and residents are able to view it on their personal computers and on all mobile devices.
Please note:
The electricity supply could be restored at any time and customers must please treat all electrical installations as live for the full duration of the interruption.
Residents are encouraged to switch off appliances as a precaution and to avoid damage caused by power surges when the power comes back on.
Some news channels are implying this work is affecting all areas in the city. This is not true. The work will be carried out in Hout Bay and will only temporarily affect the electricity supply in this area.
